What can be said is that the VC-as-commercial-partner structure is a recurring entry mechanism for US-based AI companies entering markets where enterprise trust and network access are the bottleneck, not product capability. Across companies using this entry model in South and Southeast Asia, the functional pressure that surfaces consistently is in localization product management, enterprise commercial leadership with regulated-sector experience in-market, and partnerships operations capable of managing a VC intermediary as a channel rather than a customer, a meaningfully different skill set from direct enterprise sales.
