Treasury Prime

Treasury Prime partnered with Green Dot to enable cash deposits to digital accounts through Prime Cash solution, integrating with 90,000+ retail locations including Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS.

Leadership read: Treasury Prime has committed itself to a qualitatively different value proposition than it held before this partnership. Embedded banking platforms compete on breadth of rail access; adding physical cash ingestion through 90,000+ retail points converts Treasury Prime from a purely digital-rail orchestrator into a hybrid-access layer. That shift creates new operational surface: cash processing carries fraud vectors, timing dependencies, and compliance obligations that ACH and card rails do not, and those obligations now flow through every FinTech built on the platform. The integration is an infrastructure bet on underbanked and cash-reliant segments as a meaningful commercial addressable market, not a secondary feature. This is one of 12 partnership signals we have tracked across fintech and payments infrastructure in the last 90 days. The directly relevant comparable is Green Dot's September partnership with Stripe Treasury, which used the same Arc platform to enable cash deposits across the same retail network. The pattern across these signals is consistent: payments infrastructure providers are competing to own the funding-source layer, not just the transaction layer, reflecting data showing digital-balance funding of in-store payments nearly quadrupling between 2023 and 2025. Companies operating in embedded banking at this stage of capability expansion face rising demand for product leadership at the intersection of compliance and partner integration, commercial operators experienced in selling through FinTech builders rather than end users, and risk and fraud operations capable of managing cash-channel exposure at network scale.
